MNAAC is fighting to ensure safe and legal access to abortions for all individuals who need them. An integral part of our campaign involves addressing the issue of crisis pregnancy centers. These centers are misleading establishments set up by anti-abortion groups with the primary intention of dissuading pregnant individuals from choosing abortion. Despite their purported helpfulness and deceptive names, these centers provide false medical information, employ shaming tactics, and can inflict long-lasting mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual harm.
In Minnesota, these clinics are no longer eligible to receive state funding, but many of them are still funded by the rich Evangelical right. CPCs are predatory institutions and we want them out of our communities. We have initiated an awareness campaign to expose the truth about their practices. As part of this campaign, we are seeking individuals who are willing to share their personal experiences with crisis pregnancy centers. We firmly believe that there should be no shame in having sought help at one of these centers, as their deceptive tactics can easily mislead anyone facing a difficult decision about their reproductive health. Through sharing these stories, we aim to shed light on the detrimental impact of these centers and protect others from falling victim to their misinformation and coercion.
